Thank you for the shoutout and for all of your help and insight again this week! I feel so lucky that you got my essay. Look so forward to reading so much more from you.
Seeing the world through someone else's struggle. Thank you for loving editing. This is the way I felt the first time I read one of your essays. I wish you and Lindsey the same beautiful relationship and respect we have developed.
"My favorite part about reading great literature is the little lessons about what it means to be human. I finish a great book and go kiss my wife. I look at my children differently. I smile more; worry less." -- Loved this, Latham. I loved how you're so able to pour yourself in the page, vulnerable, defenceless, without barriers. Happy to read you, always.
Lovely to see literature through your eyes. You reminded me that I spend way too much time in non-fiction and added a couple of novels to my must-read list.
I had the exact same experience about a year ago. I've since been really diving into fiction and narratives. Although I was just listening to Dylan's WOP deep dive from last week and he says "non-fiction isn't really a genre. It's just writing." which I appreciated
You know what's cool? Unabashed tears.
Amen Rick. Amen
Awesome piece, underscores a lot of what we talked about. The subtitle really did it for me
Thanks Alex. It was fun to write and to reflect on what I was hoping to say with this course.
Excited to get to talk again

funny thing is I don't think I got assigned your essay. I was just drawn to it when I saw you had posted it

I love the relationship we've developed. You helped me get here
But it started with the words and vulnerability you threw onto your page. Deja vu

Love that! And it’s so true. So many ways to write non-fiction!
Really enjoyed your reflections Latham--and what a "coincidence" we both read Lindsey's piece through the WoP process!
When breath becomes air is one of the best books I've ever read!
It hit me in my core. Such a great book. We need more books with that kind of power!
I'm all ears if you find more!
