I started off loving the hourglass. And it got progressively interesting and better from there. If there is an indicator of great intelligence, it is humility. And it comes through in this essay, Latham. That, and the love you have for your family and humanity.

When we next speak, I will share why this was such an inspirational read this particular morning. Thank you for coming into my orbit in 2022. You are part of the hope I see bubbling on the edges.

" If there is an indicator of great intelligence, it is humility". - I absolutely love the way you worded that Karena. It captures exactly what I wanted to tell you Latham. You are a humble person, and that is a very good quality to have. Kudos!

Thank you Ishan. Coming from someone with so many qualities I admire and would love to emulate -- passion, a relation to nature, a willingness to see truth regardless of what others may think, and a genuine smile that never ceases -- that complement means a lot.

I found these to be very engaging, human, and authentic stories Latham. It did accomplish getting to know (and like) you even better. I appreciate your vulnerability in telling them.

Thank you Rick. This post was actually inspired by one of your posts about the narratives we let define us. Or I should say, that's the post that made me rethink how I wanted to tell the story of this year.

I really enjoyed each of the stories that you shared. I really resonated with your section on getting fired from your dream job. There's so much shared ego in the corporate world and when you leave it, there's so much deprogramming that needs to happen. You captured that so well and I think your other experiences speak to the moments that really matter in life. Looking forward to more of your work in 2023!

I love this post and I am so glad you shared as much as you did, because I cannot wait to keep reading your Substack after this. It resonated and I felt a kindred sense about you and your words. Nice to meet you, from The Messy Human.
